Teacher’s motivation for teaching: questionnaire validity evidence

Abstract Objective: The teacher’s motivation is associated with his/her achievements, health and well-being, which reflect on the quality of teaching. Based Theory Self-Determination, validity evidence an instrument to assess for teaching was developed, containing 26 items be answered a Likert-type scale. Method: questionnaire Teacher’s applied online in sample 509 higher education teachers, 50.39% female 49.41% male, ages ranging from 25 73 years. Data were analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis, Parallel Analysis method. Results: revealed two factors structure few structural problems that required deletion some items. 17-item version simple estimated adjustment indexes very good. Conclusion: high factor loadings obtained among they clustered allow consider them representatives constructs Autonomous Controlled Motivation.
